Hello my name is Jim Leftwich. I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 1992. Whenever I tried to date a woman I was faced with a conundrum. How do I disclose my illness? It made me think what if I knew the other person also had a mental illness. It was a comforting thought. With that in mind I started the site.
Now I’m not saying just because you have a mental illness you NEED to have a partner also with a mental illness. I look at it as removing a barrier to intimacy. Nolongerlonely should not be the “only game in town” but rather a tool to perhaps get out of your comfort level. Stigma is a bitch! Don’t worry about that here!
There is no risk to give this a try. The site maintains your anonymity. Post a picture if you want. The vast majority of feedback I get is very positive. It really is a relief not to have to worry about disclosing your condition. People here just GET it. We’ve had dozens of marriages result from the site.
